What is The Role of The Law Society

The Law Society is the professional representative body for solicitors in England and Wales. On behalf of its solicitors it helps to lobby the government and related organisations or bodies that are responsible for regulating the legal profession.

Through the Law Societys independent Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), the Law Society regulates over 100,000 solicitors across England and Wales. The SRA drafts and enforces the Solicitors Code of Conduct, and handles disciplinary matters
