The most recent incident to emerge in the Toyota recall saga occurred in recent days as James Sikes claims that his Prius accelerated out of control as he was driving on the highway and the car eventually reached speeds in excess of 90 mph. Sikes says he tried the brakes and nothing was working. He called 911 and was told to apply the foot brake and the emergency brake at the same time. That maneuver lowered the vehicle speed to 50 mph.
